About Vital Earth



Our history:
In 1984-85, 200 Aloe Vera plants were imported from Australia and planted in New Zealand's Bay of Plenty. These plants of the Barbadensis Miller species, formed the basis for the range of products manufactured by Vital Earth. The first product, a hand cream, using Aloe Vera grown by Vital Earth and cold processed by hand, was released in 1989. It was from these humble beginnings that Vital Earth was born. Our founding goal was to develop effective, quality based products that gently cared for the unique and special needs of our bodies. There would be no exploitation or animal testing and fair and honourable trade would be the norm. This drove us on and over the years more and more beneficial products were created. These products are continually being improved in terms of efficiency and effectiveness with our primary goal being to eventually only use natural plant based ingredients. Our ingredients:
It is the special properties of our ingredients that make our products successful. Many have been used for centuries for their wide range of benefits. Some of these are - ACTIVE MANUKA HONEY UMF10+, a unique product of New Zealand that has been used for centuries to aid the natural healing process, both internally and externally. UMF (Unique Manuka Factor) is a special antibacterial activity not found in other honeys. ALOE VERA is a most ingenious mixture of antibiotic, an astringent coagulating agent, a pain inhibitor and growth stimulator (also called a "wound hormone") aerophytic (which means the ability to close cells and retain fluid). Used to aid the healing of cuts, sunburn, minor burns, acne, abrasions, eczema, sunspots and psoriasis, for humans and animals alike. AVOCADO OIL's multiple properties (emolliency, penetration, stability, skin softening and moisturizing, the natural ability to inhibit bacterial growth and its regenerating of new skin) combines well with the Aloe Vera to enable us to manufacture some very beneficial and wonderful products. LAVENDER OIL Used by the Romans for its antiseptic qualities for cleansing their wounds. Also widely used for its relaxing, neutralising and healing properties. Good for damaged hair. TEA TREE OIL is a wonderful healing oil that is prized world wide for its antiseptic and tissue healing properties. This infection inhibitor is an important ingredient in many of our products.
